Learn to roller skate from the ground up with celebrity skate instructor Laronbest. This beginner course covers the essentials of getting comfortable on wheels: how to glide and build momentum, how to stop safely with toe stops and the T-stop, and the rink etiquette that keeps every session smooth and fun. Across two hands-on classes, Laron breaks down stance, confidence, awareness, and gear so new skaters can step onto the floor with control and respect.
Laronbest, CEO of Vogue on Skates, teaches the fundamentals of rink confidence and skate etiquette in this beginner-friendly class. Students start with the V-stance, core engagement, and proper posture, then move into staying aware of the floor, the unspoken "woo" call for passing, and how to choose the right boots and wheels. Laron closes with his five rules of skate etiquette: respect the flow of the rink, stay aware, keep your eyes up, don't panic when you fall, and give yourself grace. Warm and practical throughout, this class is built for new skaters who want to feel comfortable and considerate on the floor.
Celebrity skate instructor Laronbest leads a quick, music-driven warm-up to get skaters loose before they hit the floor. After a reminder to keep the knees bent, core engaged, and shoulders up, Laron moves through side reaches with steady breathing, a standing hamstring stretch (with a seated option for newer skaters), and a straddle stretch held to the right, left, and center. Each move is timed in five-count holds so students can follow along in real time and feel the beat. Ideal for beginners who want to stretch out and prep their body at the start of any skate session.
Celebrity skate instructor Laronbest teaches brand-new skaters how to start and stop on roller skates in this step-by-step class. Students learn the glide: keeping the knees bent and core engaged, picking the feet up one at a time, and stepping diagonally right-to-left to build momentum and stability. Laron then breaks down two ways to stop, using toe stops (dance plugs) and the T-stop, with cues on engaging the core and staying balanced through each one. The class closes with a play-along practice set to music so students can rehearse gliding and stopping at their own pace. Ideal for beginners building their foundation on wheels.
Celebrity skate instructor Laronbest breaks down three beginner roller skating moves every skater should know. He starts with the side-to-side sway, stepping right to left to the beat with optional arm and shoulder flair, then teaches bubbles, pushing out on the heels from a V-stance to roll forward and back. Laron closes with his signature slow walk, a sway-in-place built on a 'right, right, left, left' rhythm driven entirely from the hips, before combining all three moves into one routine set to music. Throughout he reinforces the fundamentals: bent knees, an engaged core, and a tall, upright posture. Ideal for beginners ready to add their first real moves on wheels.
