Ballet instructor Lexi Romero opens her foundations series with a full warm-up and the building blocks of classical technique, demonstrated alongside her assistant Ava. The class moves through seated flex-and-point work with pulses, straddle reaches, a forward fold, and single-leg hamstring stretches before a quad-and-back catch stretch preps the body for the barre. Lexi then breaks down all five positions of the feet, stressing turnout, winged (never sickled) feet, and stacked alignment of the shoulders, hips, and toes. The class closes at the barre with the first pliés, tendus, a rond de jambe into fourth, and a sous-sus relevé with the hands lifting off the barre. Ideal for beginners building their ballet foundation from the very first position.
